Fungaia Forest Festival 2004 Camping Arrangements: Camping is available from Thursday 12 February to Monday 16 February. Camping is included in the entrance fee to the festival. This includes both car/van camping and tent camping, adjacent to the festival site. Bring your own camping equipment. Check your camping gear before you come- don't get caught out short of pegs! Bring your own cooking equipment- such as a gas stove. No fires allowed as it will be fire season. Fresh spring water will be available for drinking, cooking and washing. No showers, but you can bring a bucket or camp shower. Bathing can be done at the Huon River nearby- please do not use soaps and the like in the river. Toileting will be provided for with composting loos. Toilet paper provided. A variety of food sellers will be on sight preparing meals for sale during the festival. Some fresh produce will also be available. The closest shops are in Huonville, 20km away, so we advise shopping for your festival needs before arriving. Electrical power will not be available to campers. Bring a torch and spare batteries for getting around at night on uneven ground. Candles should be contained in non-flamable container or lantern. Recycling will be available on sight for glass, plastic and tin. Minimise your rubbish by avoiding packaging. Bring your own rubbish bags and deposit when full at the camp rubbish depot. No dogs. What else to bring: February is usually warm to hot, and dry. Protection from the sun is a must so bring hat, sun glasses and sun block. Unlike mainland Australia Tassie nights often cool down so bring warmer clothes for the evenings. It could also be wet, so bring wet weather gear too. Your own plates, cutlery and cups- even if planning to buy prepared food. Water bottles for carrying fresh water to drink. Musical instruments for jamming- ie drums and guitars. Portable ashtrays- a film canaster or old tobacco tin. Please use them rather than discarding your butts. A basic first aid kit including band aids, panadol. Funky clothes to add your own colour and style to the festival. And a healthy attitude to life. |
