Weld Valley - Immediate Threats 2004

WR017B - 90 ha coupe. End of the South Weld Road. Wilderness Quality forest. Old Growth stringybark. Ancient place. Nth Boundary close to the weld river. This area is to be promoted as the answer to the end to clearfelling. It will be a trial 'selective' logging site. This really means it will be used as a propaganda piece to try and show that forestry is not as bad as the images show. Weld 1:25 000

WR014B "Crystal Falls"(e473402 n236634) - Area adjoins Reubens Falls reserve (merely 100m buffer on Isabella Crk). Nth Boundary close to Weld River. Old Growth & regrowth tall stringybark. Rich in Leatherwood. 93ha area. Wilderness quality forest. Weld 1:25 000

WR003C (e473690 n228146) - Fletchers Rd. Approximately 10kms after Tahune Airwalk. This coupe borders the Weld River and now is accessible from the new Weld Bridge. Large coupe of 105ha. Mixed regrowth and old growth tall stringybark forest. Weld 1:25 000
